De referir que esta banda entrou na minha órbita auditiva por volta do belo ano de 1993. A primeira musica que ouvi foi I Want To Conquer The World e o bichinho ficou-me desde então. Um Som que mistura uma agressividade cheia de ressentimentos mal resolvidos e umas líricas que apesar se serem ‘De Intervenção’ e frequentemente bastante obscuras, não me deixaram indiferente... Algo em Mim mudou. É obvio que a estética contracultura com o símbolo anti-igreja e o típica postura Punk do Fuck off, também contribuiu para o meu enfeitiçamento, mas foi principalmente a melodia que me fez querer descobrir esta Banda. A Voz. A Guitarra. A Bateria. O Back Vocal...

Musica Favorita de No Control:

No Control(3) - Musicalmente perfeita para os meus ouvidos, destaca-se também pela profundidade das letras. Para mim esta música fala sobre o começo do Mundo, o binómio Deus vs Ciencia, a Igreja, o Destino e o Ser Humano. Basicamente convida á reflexao destes tópicos acima referidos e conclui que apesar do Ser Humano possuir o raciocinio lógico, é um espectador passivo do desenrolar da sua Evolução. Quer queiramos, quer não , efectivamente, nós não temos O Controlo em nada. É confortável analizarmos a nossa História ou projectarmos o nosso brilhante futuro, mas na realidade, no presente, não há certezas. O Mundo pode acabar amanha. Pode nunca acabar. Ou pode ainda nem sequer ter começado.

Operation Rescue(11) - A principio pensava que esta musica era sobre uma qualquer operação militar, quiçá uma critica aos USA e a sua mania de tentar passar a ideia que é a Policia do Mundo, mas depois de investigar, percebi que Operation Rescue é uma ONG radical dos USA contra o aborto, que seguindo a sua interpretação da Bíblia, impõe a sua maneira de pensar a toda a Humanidade. Quer queiramos ou não. Basicamente esta musica é uma sátira a esta Organização. Ora este tópico do aborto, na minha opinião está longe de estar resolvido, porque, com leis ou sem elas, as duas facções terão sempre os seus argumentos. E são ambos válidos. Para mim, aborto é um tipo de homicídio. Porque matar é matar. Não interessa se a pessoa em causa tem 3 semanas ou 30 anos. É morte. Mas por outro lado, não é de todo razoável dar á luz um bebé indesejado. Na minha mente está nas mãos da Mãe decidir a vida ou a morte do seu feto. Eu sou 70% a favor do aborto. E cada caso é um caso. Não é algo que seja taxativo...

Musica favorita do Generator:

Esta foi difícil porque embora a musica Two Babies In The Dark seja para mim mais atraente a um nível pop, a sua mensagem é me indiferente... Trata talvez de uma sátira ás relações mais frequentes entre casais, onde o Homem está ausente da unidade familiar, ganhando o pão ou fingindo que o ganha, enquanto a Mulher, no seu papel solitário de esposa obediente, trata da casa e dos filhos. Mas a minha preferida a nível de melodia + mensagem é a musica Generator(1), principalmente na versão live... Só uma pessoa com um intelecto superior poderá entender na totalidade esta musica, porque a nível metafísico é quase infinita e em termos de metáforas, vai lá vai... Para mim os temas básicos são Deus, A Vida, O Mundo, A Religião... Para mim a mensagem mais impertinente é a facilidade com que conseguimos viver com toda a merda que se está a passar no Mundo... No Telejornal morre-se aos milhares, mas O Grande problema é que o meu bife está um bocado mal passado... A triste verdade é que, se está tudo bem connosco e com o nosso “Mundo”, O Universo é perfeito, é lindo... Como é que o Ser Humano consegue viver, sabendo á partida que vai morrer em breve? De duas maneiras: Ou se vira para a Religião e a Vida Eterna, ou então tenta não pensar nisso para não dar em maluco...

Para quem não gosta do tipo de musica, ao menos leia as letras... Dá que pensar... E desenvolve bastante a percepção da Língua Inglesa porque apesar da Melodia ser “orelhuda” como o Pop, as palavras utilizadas nas letras das musicas são bastante complexas... Obriga a visita ao dicionário. E assim podemos dizer que os Bad Religion são quase didácticos... Quase...
